Making balanced clean eating a family thing

Making balanced clean eating a family thing

Learning how to balance out my foods is more than just for me! It's for my kids too! Every day I think about what's on their plate and I try my best to balance out each food group. I limit their intake of sugar and I strive for them to have good clean whole foods.
.
In the last week I've been snapping pictures of Cash's plate. He is a picky eater, but just because he is a picky eater doesn't mean I cave to giving him the bad stuff. Instead I try to find what he does like that is also apart of our daily nutrition at home. He may not like brussel sprouts, green beans, or squash... but he loves tomatoes, cucumbers, spinach, and bell peppers! he may not care for chicken, turkey, or ground beef... but he loves salmon, chicken sausage, Veggie burgers, and he will eat all the other meats with a little mustard for taste! He doesn't care for any type of pasta, rice, or qunioa... but he will eat ezekiel bread, and carrot or spinach muffins.
We even go back and try foods again that he at one time would spit out! Guess what.... he likes them!!! Just last night I placed 4 green beans on his plate thinking he was not going to eat them, and then I look over and he is chowing them down!!!! Same with carrots, he would suck the hummus off, and then out they went! But now he eats them totally plan!
My point is don't give up!! I promise the FIGHT is worth it!!! If you are not willing to fight for their health, then what are you willing to fight for? Stay strong, practice patience, and let them sample good foods until you find what they like! Then keep that stocked at your house so you always have those on hand 😉
Other staples for Cash (Reese eats about anything, LOL) are: Avocado, organic cheese sticks, tuna, eggs, sweet potato, cottage cheese, plain greek yogurt, peanut butter, bananas, apples, frozen blueberries and raspberries, whole grain crackers, toasted oats, organic air popcorn, and Dr Praeger- super green veggie burgers
To keep going in your own health and fitness journey, sometimes your WHY has to go deeper then looking good in a bikini. For me that is just one tiny reason that I keep going, but this right here is what keeps me learning more and more!
