This exercise has helped me with closing the gap in my abs and bringing the gap more together. I’m not an expert but I have battled this issue and this is one exercise I have found that has helped me!
Diastasis recti generally happens during pregnancy when the two large parallel bands of abdominal muscles separate due to the expanding uterus. Some women’s ab muscles go back to normal after the baby is born, and some do not…mine never have.
The good news is that the doctors say diastasis caused by pregnancy can be corrected with exercises and stretches designed to optimize deep core muscular function. Your body wants to function right, and it will. You just need to wake up the right core muscles and teach them what to do!
